Scope and Acceptance

This Code of Conduct ("these Rules") governs the behavior of every player across REX MU's official spaces: the game itself, in-game chat (general, guild, party and whispers), and REX MU's official Discord server. By creating an account, installing the client, or using chat or any other social feature, you accept these Rules. They are incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.

REX MU is currently in a public beta/testing phase — the server may restart or be wiped, as noted elsewhere on the site — and these Rules apply in full during that phase, just as they will afterward.

These Rules are originally drafted in Spanish. In case of any discrepancy between languages, the Spanish version prevails.

Objectionable Content and Behavior

The following is prohibited across every official REX MU space — in-game chat, guild/party chat, whispers, and the official Discord — whether posted publicly or sent privately to another player:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or incitement to violence against another player.
  • Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
  • Sexual content involving minors, in any form — zero tolerance; incidents are reported to the relevant authorities where applicable.
  • Threats of real-world harm, and doxxing (sharing another person's private information without their consent).
  • Scams or deception aimed at obtaining items, Zen, RP or real money from another player.
  • Real-money trading of accounts, items, or in-game currency outside official channels — see "Accounts and Real-Money Trading" below.
  • Spam or unsolicited advertising, including advertising other private servers in REX MU's chat.
  • Sexually explicit content in any public or shared channel.

This list illustrates what counts as objectionable; it is not exhaustive. The moderation team may act on comparable conduct not explicitly listed here, using the judgment described in "Enforcement Ladder and Appeals" below.

How to Report and How to Block a Player

Today, REX MU's game client does not have a built-in "report" button or in-game blocking feature. The channel we provide is email: send a message to support@rexmu.online with the character name involved, the approximate date and time (server time), and a screenshot or clear description of what happened. If the report involves a threat, doxxing, or sexual content involving a minor, write "URGENT" in the subject line.

If a player is harassing you through whispers or private chat, the same channel applies — include the relevant chat log or screenshot in your report so the moderation team can act.

Our Moderation Commitment

Reports we receive are reviewed by REX MU's team, and we act where appropriate. We do not promise a fixed response time for every report, but every report is reviewed, and reports are not a no-op: verified violations lead to a consequence under the "Enforcement Ladder and Appeals" section below.

Possible outcomes of a review include: no action (if the report cannot be verified), a warning, a temporary mute, a temporary ban, a permanent ban, or account termination — see the enforcement ladder for how severity is decided.

REX MU's reward systems never incentivize objectionable behavior: there is no reward for griefing, harassment, or mass false reporting.

Cheating, Bots and Unauthorized Software

The following are prohibited without exception, and are treated as one of the most serious categories of violation:

  • Bots, macros, or any automation of character actions without direct human input.
  • Third-party clients, unauthorized modifications, or modified versions of the official client that alter how the game behaves.
  • Memory editors, DLL injectors, or any tool that reads or writes the game process's memory.
  • Packet manipulation — editing or injecting network packets to alter what the client sends to or receives from the server.
  • Speed hacks or any alteration of movement/attack speed beyond what the game legitimately allows.
  • Any other third-party tool that grants an advantage unavailable to the rest of the playerbase.

Repeated offenses are treated as an aggravating factor under the enforcement ladder.

Bugs and Exploit Abuse

Exploiting a bug, design flaw, or server error for an advantage — item duplication, unintended Zen/RP generation, or breaking an event's intended mechanics, among others — is prohibited.

You must report it, not use it. If you find a bug that lets you duplicate items, generate Zen or RP outside the intended way, or otherwise break server economy, you are required to report it to support@rexmu.online before making use of it. Using it instead of reporting it is treated as exploit abuse, even if you did not discover the bug yourself.

Staff may reverse progress, items, or currency obtained through an exploit, independent of any other sanction applied.

Accounts and Real-Money Trading

Selling or transferring an account for real money, outside any mechanism the service expressly enables, is prohibited.

Sharing your account with another person is entirely at your own risk — support cannot undo actions taken by anyone else who had access to your account, and account-recovery requests do not override that.

Real-money trading (RMT) — buying or selling items, Zen, accounts, or any in-game good for real money outside REX MU's official shop, including acting as a middleman between players — is prohibited. The only legitimate way to exchange real money for anything in the game is REX MU's official shop (RP/VIP), described in our Terms of Service.

Multi-Accounting in Events

Playing with more than one account at the same time is generally allowed outside of events. Staff may limit or disqualify the use of multiple accounts belonging to the same player within a specific event, at their discretion, when it affects fair competition for a limited reward.

Chat Conduct, Language and Advertising

A respectful tone is expected in every chat channel. Excessive offensive language, personal insults directed at another player, or anything covered by "Objectionable Content and Behavior" above is not allowed.

Advertising another MU Online private server, or any other game or service, in REX MU's chat is prohibited.

Staff may moderate the language used in general/public chat to keep it understandable for the community. Using other languages in whispers, party, or guild chat is not restricted, except when used to evade moderation.

Staff Impersonation and Phishing

No REX MU staff member will ever ask for your password — not in chat, not on Discord, not by email, not through any other channel, under any circumstance.

Impersonating a staff member, using a character or guild name that suggests you are staff when you are not, or posing as REX MU support is prohibited and treated severely.

If someone claiming to be staff asks for your password, a verification code, or asks you to install something, do not comply, and report it immediately to support@rexmu.online.

Character, Guild and Pet Name Policy

Character, guild, and pet names may not be offensive, contain hate speech or sexual content, impersonate staff, or infringe a third party's trademark.

Staff may force a name change or remove a name that violates this rule, with or without prior notice, depending on severity.

Enforcement Ladder and Appeals

Sanctions generally follow this ladder: warning → temporary mute → temporary ban → permanent ban → account termination. Progress, items, or currency obtained through cheating or an exploit may also be reversed, independent of any sanction applied.

Not every violation starts at the first step: the severity applied depends on the gravity of the conduct, whether it is a repeat offense, and the context of the case. Zero-tolerance violations — such as sexual content involving minors — can result directly in a permanent ban and, where applicable, a report to the relevant authorities.

Sanctions are applied at REX MU's discretion, based on the facts available at the time.

Appeals: write to support@rexmu.online with your character name and the sanction you want to appeal. Every appeal is reviewed individually; reviewing an appeal does not guarantee the sanction will be reversed.

Changes to These Rules

We may update these Rules to reflect changes to the game or to our moderation practices. When a change is significant, we will announce it on the site (for example, in the news section) with reasonable notice. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the text was last modified. Continued use of chat or any other REX MU service after a change takes effect means you accept the new version.
